More about Physiotherapy!
Physiotherapy techniques aim to reduce pain, repair injuries and increase mobility through exercise, manual therapy (hands on treatment), and education. Physiotherapy can help people of all ages and is not only helpful during times of pain and injury but can also prevent musculoskeletal problems from arising in the first place.
All of our Physiotherapists have studied for a minimum of 3 years full time at University and have extensive knowledge of how to diagnose and manage a large range of musculoskeletal injuries (i.e. any pain or injury to the bones, tendons, ligaments, or muscles). Our Physio's also have expert knowledge to treat complex or chronic pain conditions that may be ongoing from an injury many years ago.
At Quay Kinetics Physio we pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality of care and go over and above to ensure you are well looked after.
Should you require any further investigations to confirm your diagnosis, such as x-rays or ultrasound scans we can liaise with your GP for you. We can also refer you to a specialist via your GP if necessary and we can even refer you for ultrasound guided injections if these were required.
We use a range of treatments tailored to meet your specific needs - this includes a personalised electronic exercise programme which you can access on any device to ensure you are completing your exercises correctly. Your physiotherapist will discuss other treatment options with you, so that you can work together to find the best treatment option for your recovery.
Physiotherapy is your tried and tested solution to all the problems listed above. You don’t need to struggle, instead invest in your health.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
A Chartered Physiotherapist is a degree-qualified, HCPC-registered health professional who has met the standards set by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). The "Chartered" title means we've completed a recognised university programme, are regulated by law, carry professional indemnity insurance, and are committed to ongoing professional development. It's a protected standard that distinguishes us from unregulated practitioners offering similar-sounding services. Every physiotherapist at Quay Kinetics is Chartered and HCPC registered.

All three professions treat musculoskeletal pain, but the approach differs. Physiotherapy is rooted in exercise-based rehabilitation, movement analysis, and active patient involvement. We focus on helping you understand your condition and giving you the tools to manage it long-term. Osteopathy and chiropractic tend to place more emphasis on manual techniques and joint manipulation. There's overlap between all three, and good practitioners exist in each field. The main advantage of physiotherapy is the emphasis on active rehab and self-management, which research consistently shows produces the best long-term outcomes.

Yes. We offer video consultations for patients who can't attend in person, whether that's due to distance, mobility, work schedules, or personal preference. Virtual appointments work well for initial consultations, exercise programme reviews, and ongoing management of conditions where hands-on treatment isn't the primary intervention. We use a secure video platform and can share exercise programmes digitally after your session. Book online and select the virtual appointment option.

Physiotherapists treat the full range of musculoskeletal conditions, which includes back pain, neck pain, sciatica, joint pain, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, arthritis, tendon problems, nerve pain, headaches, dizziness, postnatal recovery, and workplace-related pain. If your problem involves muscles, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, or nerves, it falls within our scope. We also treat conditions that might surprise you, like certain types of headache, jaw pain, and dizziness, all of which can have musculoskeletal origins.

The exercises themselves are only one part of physiotherapy. The real value is in the diagnosis: understanding exactly which structure is causing your pain, why it's happening, and which specific exercises will address it. A generic "exercises for back pain" video can't tell you whether your pain is disc-related, facet joint, muscular, or nerve-driven, and the right exercises for each of those are quite different. We also progress and modify your programme as you improve, monitor your response, and adjust the plan if things aren't going as expected.
-
Absolutely. Many of our patients come to us after seeing other physiotherapists, osteopaths, or chiropractors without getting the result they wanted. A fresh pair of eyes and a different clinical perspective can make a real difference, particularly for persistent or complex problems. We won't repeat what hasn't worked. We'll take a thorough history including what you've already tried, reassess from scratch, and take a different approach where needed.
If you’re ready to stop worrying about:
if you have damaged something,
what you should be doing to improve it,
if you will be able to get back to your hobbies/work again
& instead want to:
work with a highly trained & qualified health professional,
learn all about your pain/injury or niggle,
be empowered to get better and back to the things you love
